Health and Safety Protocols at Zion Episcopal Church
COVID-19 Health and Safety Protocol (Updated August 1, 2024)
Because of the recent cases of COVID-19 within the Zion community, we, the Vestry of Zion Episcopal Church, ask that if any member of our community has symptoms related to COVID-19, has had recent exposure to someone with COVID-19, or tests positive for COVID-19, to please refrain from attending in-person worship and to rather join us for virtual worship via our Facebook and YouTube channels. Those who have been infected or exposed to COVID-19 are further encouraged to refrain from Church life activities until they have fully recovered from COVID-19, and test negative for COVID-19.
We also ask that our Zion brothers and sisters observe the current CDC guidelines pertaining to COVID-19, which states that people who get sick from a respiratory virus, such as COVID-19 or the flu, isolate themselves from public activities for 5-10 days. Those who are sick from a respiratory virus are also encouraged to reach out to Father Alex for prayers, pastoral care, and for any necessary assistance.
Please know that we never wish to discourage anyone from worshipping in the House of the Lord. However, because of our love and concern for our elderly and immunocompromised parishioners, we ask that you please honor this health and safety protocol. May God continue to be with us as we endure this time of trial. Thank you for your continued prayers and for your cooperation.
Updated December 13th , 2022:
Zion Episcopal Church is committed to ensuring a safe environment for our parishioners, staff, and
visitors. We will be carefully monitoring health and safety conditions in and around the region of
Dutchess County, along with local and CDC guidelines, and we will communicate exact protocols should
any severe disease outbreaks occur within the Zion community.
Should any parishioners experience symptoms related to COVID, flu, or other infectious diseases, they
are asked to stay home and worship with the congregation via our livestream on Facebook, if possible. Those experiencing illness are also encouraged to call or text Father Alex for pastoral support at 845-370-2784. Although masking is not required at Zion Episcopal Church to attend or participate in worship services, parishioners and staff are welcome to wear masks should they so choose.
Should any readers, altar guild members, LEMs, choir members, ushers, or altar servers experience
symptoms related to COVID, flu, or other infectious diseases, they are also asked to stay home and
worship with the congregation via our livestream on Facebook, if possible. If a reader, altar guild
member, LEM, choir member, usher, or altar server be unable to serve at a worship service due to
illness, they should call or text Father Alex at 845-370-2784, as well as reach out to the head of their
respective guilds.
Thank you in advance for your loving cooperation!
