Weddings at Zion Episcopal Church

Available Dates

It is general practice that we should have at least three month’s notice prior to a wedding. Please contact the Rev. Alex Herasimtschuk at (845) 297-9797 or FrAlexZion@gmail.com to inquire about the availability of dates and/or to arrange for a meeting to discuss your wedding.

Fees

Wedding costs are an important concern of every couple. Our desire is to make our fees and the payment schedule clear and direct. For the space itself and for the officiating clergy, there are two fee tiers, one for pledging members (at the date of application) and one for non-members and non-pledging members and participants; all other fees are the same for members and non-members.  Click HERE for a listing of current fees.

Counseling

For a wedding in the Episcopal tradition, premarital counseling is required by the canons of the Episcopal Church. In the case of a divorced person who wishes to remarry, permission from the Bishop is required.

Wedding Service

Planning the liturgy (service details) occurs in collaboration with the clergy. Each couple is encouraged to select the scripture readings for their service. Other readings may be suggested and used with the approval of the officiating clergy.

Each couple works with our music director, who will be creative and flexible in helping you choose music appropriate to the sacred space and solemnity of the liturgy. Bring your ideas and preferences to him. The music of the service is ultimately at the discretion of the officiating priest. Permission for outside musicians is required from our music director.

Flowers

Flowers are permitted in the church. Flowers placed at the altar will remain with Zion Episcopal Church.
All other flowers and decorations must be removed following the service.

Please note the following policies:

  • Zion Episcopal Church does not permit the use of aisle runners.

  • Rice, flower petals, confetti, etc. may not be scattered in the church or chapel or on the church property.
